Covid-19: Definition”

Covid-19 is a highly infectious respiratory disease caused by the SARS-CoV-2 virus. The virus was first identified in Wuhan, China, in December 2019. It spreads primarily through respiratory droplets when an infected person talks, coughs or sneezes, and can also be transmitted by touching a surface contaminated by the virus and then touching the face.

Symptoms of Covid-19 include fever, cough, fatigue, loss of taste or smell, and in severe cases, difficulty breathing, pneumonia, and even death. The disease can affect people of all ages, but those with underlying medical conditions or over the age of 60 are at a higher risk of developing severe symptoms.

To prevent the spread of Covid-19, governments around the world have implemented various measures such as lockdowns, travel restrictions, social distancing, and wearing masks. The pandemic has disrupted economies and societies and has caused a worldwide public health emergency, affecting billions of people.
