Aviation Medical Examiner (AME) is a certified medical professional who is authorized by aviation authorities to conduct medical examinations for pilots and air traffic controllers. Their primary responsibility is to ensure that aviation personnel meet the medical standards necessary to maintain safe flight operations. AMEs evaluate physical and mental conditions, perform laboratory tests, and review medical history to assess a person’s fitness to fly.
