ASOS – Automated Surface Observing System

ASOS refers to an automated weather observation system that provides real-time data on various weather conditions such as temperature, wind speed and direction, pressure, precipitation, visibility, and cloud cover at ground level. This system is usually installed at airports and other locations where routine weather monitoring is necessary for aviation or other purposes. ASOS helps pilots, air traffic controllers, meteorologists, and other stakeholders to make informed decisions based on accurate and timely weather information. The system uses various sensors, automated communication, and data processing technologies to collect, process, and disseminate weather data to the users.
