Bulkhead Seat Definition

A bulkhead seat is a type of airplane seat that is positioned directly behind a separator wall. This wall separates the cabin from other areas of the airplane such as the galley or lavatories. Bulkhead seats typically provide extra legroom, which can be an advantage for travelers who want to stretch their legs. However, one disadvantage is that bulkhead seats often do not have a seatback in front of them. This means that passengers in these seats do not have a tray table or a personal entertainment screen attached to the seat in front of them. Instead, these items are usually stowed in the armrests, which can be less convenient to use. Additionally, travelers who sit in bulkhead seats may experience more noise from the galley or lavatories, as these areas are located in close proximity. Despite these potential drawbacks, bulkhead seats are often considered desirable seats due to the added legroom they provide.
