Confirmed reservation

« Back to Glossary Index

Definition of “Confirmed Reservation”:

A confirmed reservation is a statement made by a supplier, either verbally or in writing, indicating that they have received and will honor a booking for a particular service or product. Although verbal confirmations are considered less reliable than written ones, both can have limitations, either explicit or implied. It is important to note that a supplier may not be required to honor a reservation if a guest arrives after a certain time, such as after 6 p.m., unless the late arrival has been guaranteed. Overall, a confirmed reservation provides assurance for both the customer and the supplier that an agreement has been made, and the service or product will be available at the agreed-upon time and place.
