Controllable-pitch propeller (CPP)

A controllable-pitch propeller is a type of propeller that allows for the rotation of the blade around its longitudinal axis, providing the ability to adjust the pitch angle. This capability enables the propeller to create reverse thrust or brake without reversing the direction of the shaft revolutions. Additionally, should the need arise, the pitch can be set to negative values, allowing for a reversible propeller. CPPs can be found on various types of vessels and provide added control and maneuverability.
