DGPS (Differential Global Positioning System)

DGPS is a GPS (Global Positioning System) that uses reference stations on the ground to provide highly accurate location information. The system compares the positions of these reference stations to the positions reported by GPS satellites and calculates the precise difference in time and position. This information is then applied to correct any errors in the GPS signal, resulting in more accurate positioning data for the user.

DGPS technology is widely used in sea and air navigation, where accuracy is crucial for safety and efficiency. It is also used in land-based applications such as surveying, mapping, and precision agriculture. The use of DGPS has significantly improved the accuracy and reliability of positioning data, enabling users to navigate more confidently and accurately in complex environments.
