The Definition of “Flashpacker

A “flashpacker” is a type of traveler who prefers to have a more comfortable and luxurious travel experience than the typical budget backpacker. They are individuals with a larger budget who often travel with more modern technology such as smartphones, tablets, and laptops. They are also interested in experiencing the culture and local cuisine, but prefer to have comfortable accommodations such as private rooms, luxury hotels, and higher-end restaurants. Flashpackers seek adventure and exotic destinations but wish to do it in style, comfort, and convenience. They are not constrained by a tight budget and can afford to pay extra for premium travel arrangements. Flashpacking is their way of exploring the world with a touch of luxury while still being open to new experiences and cultural adventures.
