Net wholesale rate

« Back to Glossary Index

Net wholesale rate – An exclusive discounted rate offered by hotels to tour operators for bulk purchasing of rooms for their group tours, which is subsequently marked up by the tour operators to cover their distribution and promotion costs. This rate is known to be marginally lower than the regular wholesale rate, and is typically applicable to groups of individuals who have pre-purchased travel packages including specific hotel accommodations. The net wholesale rate is designed to ensure that both hotels and tour operators make a profit while still offering competitive pricing to customers.
