Purser – Definition in the Airline Industry

The purser is regarded as the chief steward or the chief air host of an airline, who is responsible for overseeing and leading the flight attendants during a flight. Their primary responsibility is to ensure that all passengers are welcomed and taken care of, from boarding until the flight’s landing.

Apart from providing exceptional customer service, the purser is responsible for ensuring that all safety protocols and emergency procedures are implemented and followed. They also ensure that all supplies and in-flight services meet airline standards and satisfy customer needs. Additionally, the purser handles passenger complaints and queries and assists flight attendants when needed.

Overall, the purser’s role is crucial in ensuring that every passenger on board is comfortable, safe, and satisfied with their flight experience.
