Run-of-Ship Cabin

A “Run-of-Shipcabin is a type of accommodation on a cruise ship that is assigned by the cruise line at the last moment. This gives the cruise line the ability to shift the cabins around as needed to maximize occupancy. Passengers are usually guaranteed a minimum category of cabin but may receive an upgrade to a higher category stateroom at no additional cost. Typically, upgrades consist of inside-to-inside cabins or outside-to-outside cabins, but occasionally an inside-to-ocean view upgrade may occur. However, it is important to note that the availability of upgrades is not guaranteed, and it may not always be worth the risk of not knowing the exact location or amenities of the cabin until closer to the departure date.
