Shopping Arcade: a covered shopping complex consisting of a variety of shops and boutiques. This architectural structure is designed to provide a convenient and comfortable shopping experience by housing several stores under one roof. Arcades are usually found in urban areas and are accessible from the main street. The term arcade was derived from the French word ‘arcade’ which means “arch” and refers to the architectural arches aligned in the arcade. This type of shopping center has been popular for centuries with the earliest recorded example being the Galleria Vittorio Emanuele II in Milan, Italy dating back to the 19th century. Today, shopping arcades are a common feature in many cities around the world and offer visitors a diverse range of shopping options in a stylish and sophisticated atmosphere.
