A Subcontractor is an individual or business entity that is hired by a primary contractor to perform a specific task or service on behalf of the primary contractor. They are responsible for carrying out a portion of the work of a larger project as delegated by the main contractor. The Subcontractor’s role can vary depending on the nature of the project. They can be involved in the planning and design phase, or they can be brought in to provide services only during the actual construction or implementation phase. Subcontractors can be local or from distant locations, depending on the nature of the work and the availability of qualified personnel in the project’s location. In essence, a Subcontractor is a specialist who is brought in to supplement the skills of the primary contractor and to help ensure that the project is completed efficiently, effectively, and within the required timeline and budget.
