Terminal Aerodrome Forecast (TAF)
A TAF is a weather report that provides a detailed description of expected weather conditions in the vicinity of an airport, including within a 5 nautical mile radius of the runway complex, for a period of 24 or 30 hours. The TAF utilizes the same descriptors and abbreviations as the METAR report and is established specifically for the 5 statute mile radius around an airport. This report is crucial for pilots, air traffic controllers, and airport personnel to anticipate potential weather hazards and plan accordingly.
