ADI

« Back to Glossary Index

The ADI, or attitude director indicator, is an instrument used in aviation to display the aircraft’s attitude, or its position relative to the horizon. It typically consists of a gyroscope and a pitch-and-roll indicator, which displays the aircraft’s attitude in relation to the pitch and roll axes. The ADI is an important instrument for pilots, as it allows them to maintain control of the aircraft and navigate safely through the air. It is often used in conjunction with other instruments, such as the altimeter and airspeed indicator, to provide a complete picture of the aircraft’s performance.
