Antiservo Tab Definition

An antiservo tab is a movable control surface attached to the trailing edge of a stabilator that moves in the same direction as the primary control. This is used to make the stabilator less sensitive to minor control inputs, thus making it easier to control the aircraft. The antiservo tab serves as an aerodynamic balance to provide a counter force against the pilot’s input. In other words, it reduces the forces required to move the control surface, allowing the pilot to make minor changes without overreacting. Thus, the antiservo tab plays a vital role in maintaining aircraft stability and control, making it an essential component of the aircraft’s overall design.
