Definition of Avionics
Avionics refers to the electronic systems that support an aircraft’s functions by monitoring and controlling its electrical and mechanical systems. The term is a combination of the words “aviation” and “electronics.” Avionics systems include radios, transponders, autopilots, flight management systems, weather radar, and instrument displays. These systems are critical for safe, efficient, and effective flights.
