Convenience Sample

Convenience sample refers to a group of research participants who are easily accessible or readily available to the researcher. This sampling approach is often used for its practicality and time-efficiency in collecting data. It may involve selecting individuals who are nearby, readily accessible through personal connections, or willing to participate in a study without much effort required on the researcher’s part.

Despite its ease of use, convenience sampling has limitations in terms of representativeness and generalizability. Due to the non-random selection of participants, it may not accurately reflect the larger population being studied. Therefore, researchers must exercise caution when interpreting the results of studies that employ convenience sampling.

In conclusion, convenience sample is a sampling technique selected on the basis of ease of accessibility and availability of potential research participants. While it can be useful in certain situations, researchers must be aware of its limitations and carefully evaluate its appropriateness for their study.
