EFC Definition

EFC is an acronym that stands for “Expect Further Clearance” in the aviation industry. It is a phrase used by pilots to request permission to continue their flight path beyond their current clearance limit.

When an aircraft is given clearance to fly, it is only authorized to fly within a certain geographical area and altitude. If the pilot wishes to continue their flight path beyond this limit, they must request further clearance from air traffic control using the phrase “Expect Further Clearance.”

This request is made to ensure the safety of the aircraft and the passengers on board as it allows air traffic control to plan and adjust nearby air traffic to ensure a smooth and safe travel experience.

EFC is a crucial step in communication between the pilot and air traffic control, and its proper use ensures the safe and efficient movement of aircraft in the skies.
