Electronic Flight Display (EFD)

An Electronic Flight Display (EFD) is a standardized flight instrument display that employs an image-producing system, such as an LCD or cathode ray tube (CRT), to visually relay critical flight information in real-time to the pilot. Unlike traditional mechanical instruments, an EFD is a digital interface that provides the pilot with a comprehensive, intuitive visualization of the aircraft’s performance, including airspeed, altitude, vertical speed, heading, attitude, and navigation. Through the EFD, pilots can quickly and easily identify any variations from the planned flight path trajectory and promptly take corrective action if required. With its advanced features and user-friendly display, an EFD helps minimize pilot workload and improve overall flight safety.
