Estimated Time of Arrival (ETA)

The Estimated Time of Arrival (ETA) is the predicted time at which an aircraft will arrive at its intended destination or checkpoint. It is commonly referred to asETA” and is determined based on a variety of factors, including the speed of the aircraft, current wind conditions, and the distance between the starting point and the destination.

Unlike the Actual Time of Arrival (ATA), which is the time when the aircraft actually arrives at its destination, the ETA is a forecast and can be subject to change due to unforeseen circumstances such as weather conditions, air traffic congestion, or mechanical issues.

The ETA is an important tool for both the crew and passengers, allowing them to plan their time and schedule accordingly. Flight crews use ETA information to determine their fuel requirements, landing procedures, and other vital details, while passengers use ETA information to make connecting flights or plan their ground transportation upon arrival.
