FL (Flight Level): a term used in aviation to refer to a specific altitude above sea level, expressed in hundreds of feet. Pilots use the FL system to maintain separation from other aircraft in controlled airspace. Each FL corresponds to a specific altitude and is separated by a vertical distance of 100 feet. For example, FL 350 corresponds to an altitude of 35,000 feet. This system helps pilots navigate accurately and avoid collisions in the sky.
