Definition of FOD
FOD, or Foreign Object Debris, refers to any material that doesn’t belong to a certain area and may cause damage to equipment or pose a safety hazard to personnel. FOD can include anything from small pebbles to loose screws. In aviation, FOD is a serious concern as it can cause damage to aircraft, engines, and personnel.
