Fuel jettison / fuel dumping

Fuel Jettison / Fuel Dumping:

Fuel Jettison or Fuel Dumping refers to a process undertaken by certain aircrafts to release fuel in the event of an inflight emergency. The primary aim of this activity is to reduce the weight of the aircraft, enabling it to land under its recommended or listed Maximum Landing Weight (MLW). While landing above the MLW is feasible, it escalates the possibility of issues on touchdown, such as burst tires or probable structural damage to the aircraft. Fuel Dumping is a safety measure used by certain aircrafts to ensure the safe landing of the aircraft and avoid any potential threats to the passengers, crew, and the aircraft itself.
