Definition of “Helicopter

A helicopter is a type of rotorcraft that is equipped with one or more sets of powered blades. The blades rotate around a central axis, allowing the helicopter to move in any direction – forwards, backwards, sideways, up and down. The power to rotate the blades comes from an engine, which drives the rotors at high speed. The blades are angled at specific angles, which creates lift and allows the helicopter to take off and land vertically. Helicopters are highly versatile machines and are used for a wide range of purposes, including military operations, search and rescue missions, transportation of people and goods, filming, firefighting, and more. They have the ability to fly at low altitudes, hover in place, and perform complex maneuvers that fixed-wing aircraft cannot do. The design of a helicopter is complex and requires a skilled team of engineers to create an aerodynamically stable and efficient machine. Nevertheless, the helicopter remains one of the most innovative and fascinating examples of human engineering and technology.
