Indirect indication

« Back to Glossary Index

Indirect Indication: A measurement or indicator of an aircraft’s pitch-and-bank attitude that is derived from instruments other than the attitude indicator. Such instruments may include the heading indicator, the altimeter, the vertical speed indicator, or other flight instruments that provide related information. Indirect Indication is a fundamental aspect of flight safety, allowing pilots to cross-check and verify their attitude readings in different situations and under different flight conditions. By understanding the parameters of Indirect Indication and its relationship with other flight instruments, pilots can maintain situational awareness and make necessary adjustments to their flight path to ensure a safe and efficient journey.
