Atmospheric Inversion

Atmospheric inversion refers to a weather condition where there is an increase in temperature with altitude. This is the opposite of the usual pattern seen in the Earth’s atmosphere, where there is a decrease in temperature with altitude. Atmospheric inversion is caused by the accumulation of warm air under a layer of cold air, creating a barrier that traps pollutants and other particles close to the ground. This phenomenon can cause serious air pollution problems in urban areas, as it makes it difficult for pollutants to disperse. Atmospheric inversion can also affect aircraft, as the barrier of warm air makes it harder for planes to gain altitude. In general, atmospheric inversion is a complex weather condition that can have serious consequences for human health, the environment, and transportation.
