Jetway / Air Bridge

A jetway or air bridge is a flexible and adjustable walkway structure that can be aligned with an aircraft door. Its primary function is to facilitate smooth and secure boarding and disembarking of passengers and staff from an airport terminal building to an aircraft.

The jetway is usually attached to the terminal building and can move up and down, as well as side to side to greet aircraft of different sizes and shapes. This mobile structure is operated by an operator, who moves the jetway to align with the aircraft door, ensuring safe and easy accessibility for the passengers.

Jetways come in different shapes and sizes and are constructed with rigid and light-weight materials such as aluminum, fiberglass and steel. Many jetways are equipped with features that enhance passenger comfort, such as heating and air conditioning, as well as entertainment systems.

The invention of the jetway has dramatically improved the safety and convenience of air travel, reducing the risk of accidents and improving passenger satisfaction. The jetway has become a symbol of modern airports around the world, and its continued development has allowed for smoother and faster travel experiences for millions of passengers every year.
