Lower (bed) refers to the sleeping arrangement in a cruise stateroom where the bed(s) are placed on the floor, as opposed to the higher bunks (uppers), if any. This type of bed is more accessible and easier to reach for passengers who may have mobility issues, and it also provides a more spacious and comfortable sleeping area. On many ships, two lowers can be arranged to make a king or queen bed, allowing for flexibility in accommodating different types of travelers. Overall, lower beds play an important role in ensuring the comfort and convenience of passengers during their cruise experience.
