Definition of Power
Power is a measure of the rate at which work is done or the amount of work done per unit of time. It is a function of the speed at which a force is applied and developed. The term “power required” is often used in reference to reciprocating engines, which require a certain amount of power to operate effectively. Power is an essential concept in physics and engineering, providing a means of quantifying the effectiveness of energy transfer and the output of machines and systems. In general, the greater the power output, the more work can be accomplished in less time, making power a critical factor in many applications.
