Definition of PTS

PTS refers to the Practical Test Standards, which are the guidelines that a pilot candidate must follow during a flight test. These standards outline the knowledge and skills required for obtaining a particular type of pilot certification, such as private or commercial. These guidelines are developed and maintained by the Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) and provide a comprehensive and consistent evaluation of a pilot’s abilities. PTS includes information on topics such as flight planning, aircraft control, navigation, emergency procedures, and decision making. In addition, the PTS outlines the performance criteria the pilot must meet to pass the flight test. PTS serves as an essential tool for pilots to assess their knowledge and skills level and improve themselves in all aspects of flying.
