Rate of climb indicator

Rate of Climb Indicator: A device used to measure the rate at which an aircraft ascends or descends in relation to its height above the ground or sea level. The instrument estimates the altitude based on changes in atmospheric pressure, and it displays the vertical velocity with a needle or digital readout. It is an essential instrument for pilots to monitor the performance of their aircraft and make necessary adjustments during takeoff, landing, and flight. The modern Rate of Climb Indicator is more commonly referred to as a Vertical Speed Indicator, providing accurate and reliable data in real-time for safer and more efficient flying.
