Single-Pilot Resource Management (SRM)

Single-pilot resource management (SRM) is the skilled management and effective utilization of all available resources by a single pilot to ensure the successful outcome of a flight. This typically involves the pilot’s ability to gather and interpret information from various sources, such as weather reports, navigation data, aircraft systems, and human factors, and make decisions that will optimize safety and efficiency during the flight. SRM also encompasses the pilot’s ability to communicate and cooperate with other relevant parties, such as air traffic controllers, ground crew, and passengers, in order to enhance situational awareness and maintain a coordinated and safe flight environment. In essence, SRM is a critical component of safe and successful single-pilot operations, and it requires a combination of technical skills, decision-making abilities, and interpersonal communication skills to achieve optimal outcomes.
