Standard Rate Turn

The Standard Rate Turn is a maneuver performed by an aircraft in which it changes its direction at a constant rate of 3° per second. This means that the aircraft takes 2 minutes to complete a full circle, equivalent to 360° of turn.

The Standard Rate Turn is applicable to low and medium-speed aircraft. For high-speed aircraft, the rate of turn is different, and it is reduced to 1 ½ ° per second. This means that the aircraft takes 4 minutes to complete a full circle or 360° of turn.
