Definition of “Through Passenger

A through passenger is an individual who continues their journey on the same aircraft at a connecting stop, without disembarking, in order to reach their final destination. This type of passenger does not exit the aircraft during the layover and remains on board until arrival at their destination. Through passengers are typically identified during the boarding process and may receive instructions or special accommodations from the airline regarding their journey. This term is commonly used in the airline industry to distinguish passengers who are traveling non-stop versus those who require a connecting flight. Through passengers may have different requirements or preferences than those who are disembarking at a particular stop, and airlines may tailor their services accordingly.
