Vertical Speed Indicator (VSI):

A crucial panel instrument used in aircraft to measure the vertical velocity in feet per minute. By detecting changes in atmospheric pressure, the VSI gives accurate readings for the rate of climb or descent of an aircraft. The VSI is also commonly referred to as a variometer due to its function of displaying variations in altitude. In essence, the VSI provides pilots with a precise indication of their current vertical speed and any deviation from the desired flight path, allowing for proper adjustments to maintain consistent altitude. Its applications are essential for safe and efficient air travel.
