Aircraft lessor
Aircraft lessor refers to a firm that acquires commercial airplanes and leases them to airlines and other entities. Typically, an aircraft lessor maintains a fleet of airplanes and leases them to clients through finance leases or long-term operating leases. The lessor retains ownership of the planes and assumes the burden of maintaining them during the lease period. Aircraft leasing is a viable alternative to purchasing for airlines that want to expand their fleets or operate without committing financial resources to a full aircraft acquisition. Additionally, aircraft leasing enables airlines to operate without the burden of asset management and the associated risks.
