Feeder Facilities

Feeder facilities refer to the air traffic control (ATC) system used to direct aircraft toward intervening fixes between the en route structure and the initial approach fix. These facilities provide a seamless transition for aircraft as they move from the standard air traffic control procedures used during their approach and landing. Feeder facilities come in handy when an aircraft needs to depart from the standard routes and fly through the conventional procedures before landing. In other words, the feeder facilities help to guide the aircraft from one stage of the flight to the next, making sure that it follows the appropriate route and avoids any possible conflicts with other aircraft in the vicinity. ATC uses this system to enhance safety, minimize delays, and ensure efficient use of airspace.
