Global Landing System (GLS)

The Global Landing System (GLS) is an advanced instrument approach system that provides precise lateral and vertical guidance to landing aircraft with integrity limits. It is similar to the Barometric Vertical Navigation (BARO VNAV), but incorporates additional technologies to increase accuracy, reliability, and safety during approach and landing operations. The GLS system can be used in a variety of low-visibility conditions, including fog, rain, and snow, and is particularly useful in complex or challenging terrain where traditional approach systems may be limited in their effectiveness. With advanced GPS capabilities and integration with other navigation and communication technologies, the GLS offers a powerful and flexible solution for modern aviation operations.
