HSI Definition

It displays the aircraft’s heading, the course deviation from the desired track, and the distance from the next waypoint or destination. Additionally, some HSIs can display navigation information from multiple sources, such as GPS, VORs, and ADFs. The HSI aids the pilot in maintaining situational awareness and making precise navigation decisions during flight. Overall, the HSI is an important navigational tool that enhances the safety and efficiency of flight operations.
