Inoperative Components

Inoperative components refer to any equipment or systems that are not functioning properly, which may affect the safety of an aircraft. The United States Terminal Procedures Publications lists inoperative components in an Inoperative Components Table, which helps pilots determine whether higher minimums are required when specified visual aids are not in use. This table includes information on various components, such as instrument landing system (ILS), approach lighting systems, or runway visual range (RVR) systems. Pilots must be aware of the status of inoperative components to ensure safe and successful flight operations.
