LDA

LDA (Localizer-Type Directional Aid): A ground-based navigation aid that provides guidance to an aircraft during approach and landing. It utilizes radio signals to establish a straight line of approach to the runway, known as the localizer signal. The LDA also provides directional information to align the aircraft with the runway centerline. This type of aid is used when there is limited space or obstacles in the surrounding area and cannot accommodate a standard Instrument Landing System (ILS). The LDA can only provide guidance for a straight-in approach and does not provide any glide slope information.
