Airport LOC (Localizer)

The Airport Localizer (LOC) is a radio navigation system used by pilots for approach and landing at an airport. The system provides guidance to a pilot to ensure that their aircraft is on the correct approach path and aligned with the runway centerline. The LOC uses a ground-based transmitter that sends out a signal to the pilot’s navigation equipment in the cockpit. The accuracy and reliability of the LOC system are crucial for safe landings, especially during periods of low visibility or bad weather conditions. It is an essential component of the instrument landing system (ILS), which allows pilots to navigate and land their aircraft in all weather conditions.
