Mountain Flying – Airplanes

Mountain Flying is the type of aviation activity that involves the operation of aircraft in mountainous regions, where specific techniques and procedures are implemented. These techniques are designed to cope with the challenges associated with flying at high altitude and in areas where the terrain is rugged and rough. The demand for Mountain Flying arises when specific requirements of takeoffs and landings in locations may have an altitude of 5,000 feet or higher above sea level, and/or limited and unimproved airstrips overrun the flat grounds. In extreme temperatures, particularly above 75 degrees Fahrenheit, flying under this condition requires a unique approach, which pilots should also master. Often, professionals who specialize in this flying activity, rely on their considerable experience and training to perform with precision and efficiency in navigating through complex mountain terrain. Mountain flying is a skill that requires extensive training and proficiency to ensure safe handling of the aircraft and to prevent accidents.
