Runway Edge Lights

Runway edge lights are an important component of the runway lighting system used to define the edges of runways and taxiways, especially at night or during low visibility conditions. These lights serve as a visual aid for pilots when maneuvering aircraft on the runway. They can be classified according to the intensity they are capable of producing, with some capable of producing high intensity lighting that can be seen from a greater distance. Runway edge lights are typically installed along the entire length of the runway and can also help pilots identify the various sections of the runway, such as the approach end or the takeoff end. The lights are usually supported by concrete foundation structures and are designed to be durable and withstand harsh weather conditions. In addition, some runway edge lights also incorporate LED technology to reduce energy consumption and maintenance costs.
